That’s all folks!

As you can see, our total usage peaked at near 16k on the 1st and then it went down to 12k. Leaks don’t fix themselves and we’ve not been made aware of any repairs, nor have we had any completed, so it looks like people are burning through at least 4k gallons a day to try and prevent pipes freezing. Under normal circumstances, 4k is nearly half our total usage for a day. A single 1/2 pipe left wide open can use 5k gallons a day, so it doesn’t take much to push things over the edge.

About 14k is the edge where we start losing the battle. Our storage tank normally holds about 24k gallons and the water level varies from 7 to 8 feet as the pumps go on and off. We were at 5.8 feet tonight, down from 7.2 the previous night. When we reach 2.5 ft of water, we have to shut the system off or the pressure pumps will be exposed and start pulling in air as well as overheat and fail.

Same deal as always. Find the leaks and stop running water or it will be shut down to recover. You might get water every other day at that point until fixes are made.
