After the 24th of January (nearly 17k of usage), we had nearly seven days of tolerable usage (11.5k to 13.5k), but tonight we’re over 15k again. Our wells are running 24/7 and can’t keep up with that. Our reserves begin to dwindle. I used to be quite skeptical that people running water to prevent pipe freeze was actually making a serious difference, but after a drop of 5k in a day with no known break repairs, it seems I’ve been quite incorrect.

We have one known leak at this time identified and one known major issue that will arise when we go above freezing again. We are beyond sustainable levels again. Once the reserves go below a given safety level in the storage tank (about 2.5 ft), we have no choice but to shut the system down. There won’t be any water to let run at that point.
